The research group FOR 2316 started October 1, 2015 as announced in
a DFG press release of that day. October 15 the news made it to the
web-site of Wuppertal University.

In November 2018 the research group FOR 2316 was positively evaluated. The work
on the projects of the second funding period started in October 2019 with new PhD students and a new postdoc.

Experiments using cold atoms with and without optical lattices as well as experiments on

For integrable systems the ground-state energy and excitations are computable
in principle. Still, the calculation of thermodynamical properties remains a
challenge of its own as all energy levels have to be taken into
account. Traditionally the computation of the partition function of integrable
systems is achieved by means of the so-called thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA)
which is a combinatorial approach typically leading t…

The main objective of this project is the advancement of
methods for the exact and efficient calculation of correlation
functions of integrable lattice models. In previous work
we (and others) have shown that the correlation functions of the spin-1/2
Heisenberg chain and of related integrable models are characterized
by a specific structure which we have called factorization:
longer-range correlation functions are polynomials in

We shall consider conformal quantum field theories and integrable massive
quantum field theories starting from their lattice regularizations
provided by the six-vertex model. In previous work we have completely
clarified the structure of the correlation functions of this model.
We could explain their factorization, that was observed before,
by means of a hidden Fermionic structure on the space of (quasi-)
local operators.…

Spin chains and two-dimensional vertex models with an underlying superalgebra

Some of the most dramatic consequences of the interplay of reduced dimensionality and
quantum eects are observed in transport. Integrable models, which have an infinite number
of local conservation laws, are expected to have particularly unusual transport properties.
For the integrable spin-1/2 Heisenberg chain the energy current itself is conserved
leading to an infinite heat conductance. The spin current operator, on the other hand, is

Correlations in Integrable Quantum Many-Body Systems

The objects of our daily experience, macroscopic pieces of matter,
are composed of a very large number of microscopic constituents,
ions and electrons, say. One of the major goals of our science
(many-body physics) is to explain quantitatively the material
properties of macroscopic matter from the properties of its
microscopic constituents. This can be achieved by calculating
the correlations of local quantities on the microscopic side.

Opening workshop

The first of these workshops will take place April 11-14, 2016 at
Wuppertal University.

Correlations in Integrable Quantum Many-Body Systems

This workshop will focus on the lattice realization of quantum field
theories with non-compact degrees of freedom and on functional equations
for the calculation of spectra and correlation functions of integrable
lattice models.$k_B T$$mc^2$$m$$c$$k_BT/(mc^2)$$_4$$_4$$_2$$_3$$_2$$_2$$_2$$_2$$_8$$Y(gl_2)$$Y(gl_3)$$R$$Y(gl_2)$$Y(gl_3)$$Y(g…
